Open Journals Lund University - OJLU

The Libraries at Lund University work together on open access publishing of journals and periodicals on the OJLU platform, Open Journals at Lund University. Editorial staff of publications linked to Lund University are offered free server space and support in a collaboration between the University Library and the Faculty Libraries.

The publishing platform

Open Journals at Lund University (OJLU) is a platform for electronic publishing of journals and periodicals related to activities at Lund University. The University Library provides the Open Journal Systems (OJS) and offers free access to the system and free server space. Together with the faculty libraries, start-up support, technical support and support in publishing issues are offered. Editorial staff of publications linked to Lund University can use the system for publishing. The periodicals can start-up in the platform, or be already existing and transfer to the platform.

The system used for publishing is Open Journals Systems (OJS) which can handle the entire publishing process, from manuscript submission and peer-review to full text publishing and archiving. All communication with authors, reviewers and other editorial staff can be handled via the system and history regarding the work is saved.

The system enables good searchability where the articles, for example, become searchable in Google Scholar, it is possible to get statistics and to use DOI on articles, as well as technical basic prerequisites for indexing in other databases. The system is free software developed by the Public Knowledge Project in collaboration with a global development community.

Start using OJLU

For more information about the platform and how to start, or transfer, a journal, contact the support at your faculty library and make an introductory appointment. We also recommend the editorial staff to read the guidelines to follow when using the platform.

Before the journal can be published via OJLU, a so-called Journal hosting agreement must be signed. This establishes the division of responsibilities between the journal's editorial staff and the University Library. Signed documents can be scanned and sent to the support at the Faculty library or to publicera [at] lub [dot] lu [dot] se
