Distance students

If you have been admitted to a distance learning course at Lund University and for whatever reason cannot visit our libraries, you can still borrow from them. You need to obtain a library card.

Obtaining a library card

If you do not have a library card for the libraries at Lund University, you can apply for one at the library associated with your subject. Consult your subject library’s website to find out what information they will need from you.

Get books sent home

If you are unable to visit our libraries, you can get the books sent home to you at no extra cost than that of return post. Reference books and journals are not sent out. The conditions for sending course literature vary from one library to another at Lund University.

Search and order

Search the Lovisa library catalogue for the material you need. When you have found what you are looking for, send an email to your subject library with information on the books you would like. If you want to place a hold on books on loan, you can also send an email to your subject library.

Renewing/Managing your loans

When you have borrowed books from one of the libraries at Lund University, you can check your loans by logging into Lovisa under My account.

Returning books

You are responsible for the postage cost of returning borrowed books.

Remember to send the books in time so that they are received by the library before the end of the loan period, in order to avoid overdue fees.

Access to electronic resources

In LUBsearch there are articles and reference works in full text, as well as e-books. Log in with your student account to access the full texts. Our subject-specific databases are listed in Databases A–Z. You also access these resources via your student account.
