It is still possible to export the references in MyCollection. However, it has to be done before the 31st March!
For information about how to proceed, please see this manual:
Summon is a common access point to all library resources. Through a single search box you can find articles, journals, theses and books, among other things. You get an overview of the library resources related to your search object. About 108 million items are active in Lund University Library’s Summon. You can also search the entire Summon index (Lund’s own resources as well as the resources of all other Summon libraries worldwide) which gives you access to over 600 million items.
Some material is not searchable in Summon. Above all the Swedish databases such as Byggtermsbanken, Karnov, Rättsbanken, the media archive, Presstext.
You do not need an app to search Summon from your cell phone; you enter the URL lu.summon.serialssolutions.com and the interface will be adapted to your cell phone or tablet.
Summon supports the following browsers and cell phones:
Summon is a good place to search if you are looking for a specific article or if you need access to full text. Summon is a good starting point to find your way among the library’s resources, both with regard to printed and to digital material. Summon does not, however, replace the subject-specific databases or the library catalogue. If you are to carry out a specialised or in-depth subject search, you should use the relevant database. If in doubt, contact a librarian for guidance on the relevant database for your subject area.
Summon uses the boolean operators AND, OR and NOT (please note that they must be typed in CAPITALS). If you are searching for two search terms, Summon automatically searches with AND. As usual, truncation is marked with an asterisk *. The question mark ? is used to search for alternative spellings; for example organi?ation searches for both organization and organisation.
Since many of the items you search for in Summon are very extensive, it is often important to use the facets that appear in the lefthand margin to limit your search, thereby reducing noise.
You can limit the search with one or several content types, subject terms, publication dates or other alternatives such as “Limit to articles from peer-reviewed publications”. When you tick one of the facet boxes, Summon immediately starts to carry out the search without waiting for the user to click Search. In order to apply several facets, you must add them one at a time. Alternatively, you can apply several content types or subject terms by clicking “more…” and ticking the relevant options.
If you subsequently wish to add more search terms, it is important to tick “Keep search refinements”. The default setting is “New search” which means that you lose the search limitations you applied earlier by selecting the facets.
When you are away from the Lund University campus (and not accessing the internet from one of Lund University’s IP numbers) you will be directed to the proxy server and requested to log in via LDC’s CAS (Central Authentication Service) with your Lucat/StiL account. Once you are logged in, you get access to the resources that you request. If you have forgotten your Lucat identity, you can contact the person responsible for the directory at your department to solve the problem. If you have forgotten your StiL identity, you can apply for a new one here:
Several full text suppliers sometimes have access to the same article. In that case, you will find several links to the same article via LU Linker.
It is not technically possible in all databases to create a direct link to the full text of an article. LU Linker attempts to link as follows:
If your search brings you to a lower level than that of the full text of the article, you must click your way through to the article on the web pages of the journal provider.
The library has to pay a subscription to most e-journals and databases in order to offer their content. If you do not get through to a link to the article’s full text, this could be because:
Students and staff can access LU LINKER even from outside the University’s network. In order to do so, the user must log in with their StiL / Lucat identity.
