The division Scientific Communication at the University library Tornavägen has a number of services and also works with questions concerning scientific communication, e-publishing and publication analysis.
The function of the division is to monitor questions concerning the scientific communication system, and the co-workers take an active part locally, nationally and internationally in seminars and conferences, and also visit departments, research groups etc. within the university. One important task is to promote the university’s Open Access policy, which is done by informing about the present conditions for scientific communication, its spreading and accessibility. The development in the scientific publisher branch, and the development of new publishing models and publishing channels, is closely monitored. Another task is to watch the development in the copyright area and give advice in questions concerning copyright. The division also publishes ScieCom info, a journal with news and articles shedding light on different aspects of the subject "scientific communication".
